This Tuesday there were new developments in the case that is being investigated for a collapse at a construction site in the General Paz neighborhood, near downtown Córdoba, which caused damage to neighboring houses.
Last Wednesday, January 21, a sinkhole caused the collapse of the dividing wall of a parking lot and caused destruction to several parked cars.
The buildings on the block were also affected.
The company responsible provided assistance to those affected, but as the days went by it was not known how the situation of those who can't return to their apartments would be solved.
Collapse in the General Paz neighborhood: residents request to be plaintiffs
This Tuesday, it was confirmed that a group of residents requested to join as plaintiffs in the case that the Justice system initiated ex officio.
"We want to be admitted as plaintiffs in order to verify and oversee the evidence. We want to see what happened," said attorney and also affected party, Pablo Schulle.
According to information from Canal 10, the criminal investigation, which could be classified under the crime of disaster (whether negligent or intentional), seeks to determine whether the removal of foundations carried out by the construction project was a correct practice or should not have been done.
Schulle also criticized the actions of the Municipality of Córdoba, since it did not carry out effective oversight activities, and the company, which has not shown "an openness to dialogue to find concrete solutions."
In that context, when the total impact that the collapse had on the properties can be measured, claims could also be filed for damages and losses.
