On Wednesday morning, a deadly shooting shook the office of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (in English, ICE) located in Dallas, Texas, leaving at least one immigrant dead and others seriously injured.
The attack was carried out by a sniper, identified as Joshua Jahn, 29 years old, who opened fire from the roof of a nearby building while federal agents were transferring detainees to the facility around 7 a.m. According to media reports, the shots occurred just as the security gate of the complex was open.
The terrorist fired at the van that was entering the complex carrying the three detainees. The FBI, which is leading the investigation along with other federal and local agencies, reported that it is treating the case as a politically motivated domestic terrorist attack.

The striker's anti-ICE motivations
Authorities confirmed that it was a targeted attack against the immigration control agency. Evidence found at the scene, including bullet casings with anti-ICE messages written on them, points to a political motivation and possible radicalization of the striker.
Jahn was found dead on the roof of a nearby immigration law office with a self-inflicted wound. Sources close to the investigation revealed that he fired indiscriminately at both the ICE building structure and the vehicle transporting the immigrants.
