The three provincial senators supported the law that seeks to reactivate employment and put an end to labor lawsuits

After a marathon 17-hour session, the Senate gave preliminary approval to the labor reform promoted by Milei with 42 votes in favor and 30 against. Córdoba's representation was unanimous in its general support, showing a firm commitment to private growth and institutional legal security. This parliamentary victory marks a turning point for companies that see their hiring capacity limited by a rigid and anachronistic framework.

Senator Alejandra Vigo emphasized that in Córdoba private employment represents 89% of the total, while the state sector reaches only a scant 11%. She warned that this vital labor market has remained stagnant since 2016 due to the lack of real incentives for serious productive investment. The legislator maintained that modernization is indispensable to revitalize the provincial economy and provide genuine opportunities to all young people.

Data from the IDESA center support this view by detailing that 67% of formal employment in Córdoba is concentrated in units of up to 5 workers. These microenterprises are currently the most vulnerable to legal conflicts and Kirchnerist economic crises that hit the country. Generating a framework of stability and predictability is perceived as an urgent need to safeguard these essential sources of work.

Strengthening SMEs and employment

Regarding the specific points, Vigo argued that the regulations are valuable if they provide predictability to stop the advance of the lawsuit industry. "For a long time, a torrent of inequities and lawsuits in bulk was formalized that did not benefit either party," the senator stated. She also expressed certain reservations about the elimination of special labor statutes that could generate legal uncertainty in some sectors that are critical.

Carmen Álvarez Rivero stressed that formal employment has become a financial risk for those who decide to hire under the rules currently in force. The senator defended decentralization so that business owners can negotiate conditions near their factories without distant tutelage. Her approach seeks to dismantle a system that prioritizes constant litigation over the creation of wealth for all citizens.

The legislator praised the work of President Milei and the role of Patricia Bullrich in consolidating this new national political scenario. "We must thank President Milei because he has made Argentina shift its axis toward the ideas of freedom," she stated enthusiastically. She admitted that, from her personal point of view, the reform could have gone even further to definitively free the market from current regulations.

The end of obsolete labor laws

Luis Juez agreed on the need to update collective bargaining agreements that date back to the 1970s and are totally anachronistic. The senator pointed out that it is impossible to compete in a world dominated by Artificial Intelligence using regulations designed during the last century. He defended the agreements reached to amend 28 articles of the original bill, prioritizing governability and the social peace the country needs.

Regarding the protests outside, the Civic Front leader harshly criticized the violent groups that tried to create chaos in the streets. "Those guys do not defend any job, they do not know what a job is; in their lives, they have never worked at anything," Juez remarked with his direct and critical style. He considered that the next step must be a comprehensive tax reform in which governors stop exerting pressure through the collection of Gross Income taxes.

The approval of this legislative package represents a step forward toward a modern and competitive work culture within Argentine territory. Although no law guarantees immediate results, the political signal is powerful for those who seek to invest and create genuine jobs. Córdoba is thus consolidated as a bastion of change that seeks to dignify workers through individual effort and market freedom.
