According to projections, 15.5 million tons of corn are expected in the core region. If achieved, it will be the largest harvest in 15 years, surpassing the 2018/19 campaign with 15 Mt. In addition, it will be achieved with 300,000 more hectares than then, consolidating a productive record.
In 2024, production was affected by the corn leafhopper and resulted in lower outcomes, although this cycle would be 30% higher thanks to favorable weather. The pioneers in sowing were producers from southeastern Córdoba and central-southern Santa Fe. The optimal planting window runs from September 15 to 20, with rising temperatures.

The 2024/25 harvest concluded with 49 million tons of corn in the country, and prospects for the new campaign are highly favorable. Buenos Aires Grain Exchange highlighted that 52% of corn would be early sowing. This will allow surpassing the 46% average of the last five campaigns.
In Córdoba, the agricultural area is regaining its usual proportion with soybean predominance, which will cover 4,073,000 hectares, although with a 7% year-on-year decrease. Sunflower shows a 20% increase in the province, with 254,500 hectares sown, and a historic rise of 361%.
Wheat, which occupies 6.7 million hectares in the country, has 80.2% with adequate or optimal water condition. 97.5% of plots are rated between normal and excellent. In Córdoba, peanut and sorghum total 268,100 and 127,100 hectares respectively, although with declines compared to previous campaigns.
