Córdoba leads national investment in corn with US$ 2,000 million.
The province is consolidating itself as the main cereal producer in Argentina
In Argentina, the world's third-largest soybean producer, there is a cereal that has been growing at a rapid pace: corn. In the last 30 years, it has tripled the planted area, doubled yields, and today it is the grain that is produced the most in the country.
According to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, 7.8 million hectares will be planted this season, with a national investment of US$6 billion. Of that total, Córdoba will contribute US$2 billion, consolidating its position as the leading province in production and investment.

Growth and new uses
Corn is no longer just food for livestock or human consumption. Today, it has nearly 4,000 applications, ranging from personal hygiene products to fireworks.
- In shampoo and conditioner, it provides citric acid and vitamin C.
- In toothpaste, sorbitol derived from the cereal is used.
- In fireworks, corn dextrin acts as a binder for colors and effects.
- These examples show how the cereal's value chain is constantly expanding, generating innovation and employment.

Corn's competitiveness
In addition to its diverse uses, Argentine corn stands out worldwide for its high productive efficiency and internationally recognized quality. A study by INTA and INTI determined that the national cereal achieves consistent yields with lower relative costs compared to other major producers.
This consolidates Argentine corn as a competitive grain, with clear advantages for gaining international markets and continuing to drive the country's economy.

Córdoba, engine of production
With the new season, corn will once again gain ground over soybeans in the Pampas region. In Córdoba, its importance lies in the planted area, as well as in the economic and technological contribution that positions the province as a benchmark in the country and worldwide.
