Córdoba offers two gastronomic celebrations in the middle of winter

The province combines two culinary offerings that bring together tradition, culture, and tourism. One is in Colonia Caroya and the other is in Tanti

Colonia Caroya will host the 29th Caroyense Traditional Food Festival on Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17 at Plaza Nicolás Avellaneda. The event will take place under the original format restored in 2024, with free admission for all visitors. A central tent in the public space will allow the community to enjoy the scheduled activities.

The celebration is centered on preserving dishes inherited from the first settlers, which are part of Caroyense cultural identity. These recipes, simple to prepare yet of great symbolic value, are considered the town's gastronomic heritage. Since its inception in 1989, the gathering has united public, private, and cultural efforts to strengthen the region's tourism profile.

In addition to gastronomy, Friulian customs are showcased through music, dance, and crafts, creating a festive atmosphere. Over the two days, local residents and tourists are expected to participate, finding in this event a winter attraction. With this, Colonia Caroya is consolidating itself as a cultural and gastronomic hub of reference in Córdoba.

Meanwhile, Tanti will celebrate the Lamb Festival on Saturday, August 16 at the Solar de Piedra amphitheater starting at noon. With advance tickets at 7,000 pesos (15.4 pounds) and 10,000 at the door (22 pounds), attendees will be able to taste lamb dishes in various preparations. The event will continue throughout the long weekend at the city's dining establishments.

The cooking methods include spit-roasting, disc cooking, chanfaina, grilling, stew, and traditional empanadas. In addition to the food, there will be performances by Los Guaraníes, Grupo Ceibo, Pablo Lozano, and Los Lirios, along with artisan stands. The organizers estimate attendance will exceed 9,000 people, a figure that reflects the growing interest in this festival.

Advance tickets can be purchased at the Municipality of Tanti, the Tourism Office on Route 28, and at Cable de las Sierras. Advance sales were available until Thursday, August 14, after which access at the door was enabled. The organizers warned that food, drinks, and coolers will not be allowed on the premises.
