Córdoba: police detain violent ATE and CTA union members and restore order

Between 13 and 15 people were detained for assaults and destruction, while the union attempted to impose chaos and generate disturbances

A protest by ATE and CTA in front of the Social Policies and Human Development building in Córdobaended with arrests and clashes. The demonstrators, who were demanding supplies for soup kitchens, caused disorder by attempting to forcibly enter the municipal building. The proper intervention by the police put an end to the escalation of violence, ensuring the protection of workers and residents in the 27 de Abril area.

At least 13 people were arrested according to official sources, while union spokespersons raised the figure to 15. Among those detained is Federico Giuliani, ATE Córdoba's general secretary, who, according to the union, suffered a fracture, although the Police denied any injuries. The presence of multiple vehicles and officers allowed the situation to be controlled without public safety being compromised.

The police operation demonstrated efficiency and adherence to protocols, preventing the union protest from escalating into greater chaos and damage to municipal property. The union's maneuver showed aggressive behavior, with attacks on officers and obstruction of journalistic work at the scene. The actions of the force guaranteed social peace, showing that the law is enforced in the face of violent acts by union members.

Police actions and official statement

The Córdoba Police reported that the demonstrators attempted to enter the building by throwing blunt objects and endangering the officers present. "During this morning, a large group of demonstrators belonging to the ATE union gathered near a municipal office located at the intersection of 27 de Abril and Miguel del Corro streets, as part of a protest related to national social policies," the force stated. The police actions were fully recorded and made available to the judicial authority, ensuring transparency and legality in each arrest.

The statement specified that the operation included a dozen vehicles and that action was taken to neutralize union violence, restoring order. The Police highlighted that one officer suffered minor injuries, while those responsible for the disturbances face legal measures and corresponding sanctions. The response demonstrates that in the face of union violence, the institution keeps control and effectiveness to protect the community.

The union members, far from limiting themselves to a peaceful protest, sought to impose their will through intimidation and aggression, causing alarm among residents and municipal officials. The response from the force was immediate and professional, dismantling any attempt at prolonged disorder and protecting the integrity of all present. The intervention shows that the Police fulfill their essential role in upholding the law and sanctioning criminal behavior by violent union members.
