Starting at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, GNC stations in Córdoba interrupted supply for 24 hours. The measure was communicated by Distribuidora de Gas del Centro, which justified the decision due to a decrease in transportation stock. The shutdown affects both independent stations and those linked to oil companies.
The president of the Chamber of GNC Retailers of the interior of Córdoba, Marisa Centenaro, confirmed that this is a general resolution. The decision is a response to the sharp increase in residential consumption due to low temperatures. The affected stations number around 300 in Córdoba alone.
The situation takes place in an adverse weather context that is putting pressure on the national energy system. The service interruption also extends to provinces such as Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, Mendoza, and others in the central and Cuyo regions. However, Córdoba stations represent one of the most important focal points due to their volume of operations.
Late Wednesday, the presence committee will meet to assess the situation. According to Centenaro, the decision could be lifted before the scheduled deadline if the system stabilizes. Meanwhile, the stations remain closed to GNC sales and are monitoring demand trends.
