La Derecha Diario Tragedy in Córdoba: A woman died in a fire at her home in the middle of the night
It happened in Villa Cura Brochero. The victim was 80 years old. The fire started in her room and she was unable to get out in time
An 80-year-old retireedied this Saturday after her home caught fire in Villa Cura Brochero, Córdoba. The fire started around 1 a.m. in a room of her house, located at 300 25 de Mayo Street.
The flames spread quickly and consumed part of the structure before rescuers arrived.
Firefighters worked at the scene and found the victim
Upon arrival, personnel from Volunteer Firefighters and DUAR managed to control the fire after several minutes of work. Inside the home, they found the woman's lifeless body, who was unable to escape the smoke and fire in time.
A medical team confirmed the death at the scene and reported that the causes of death were inhalation and burns.
A dog was rescued and the origin of the fire is under investigation
During the operation, firefighters also managed to rescue a dog that was in another room of the house. Despite the intensity of the fire, the animal was found alive and received care from local neighbors.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin of the fire and rule out intentionality.

The causes of the fire are being analyzed
Experts are working at the scene to determine what caused the flames, although an electrical fault has not been ruled out. The fire occurred in a mixed-construction home, which facilitated the spreadof the fire within minutes.
For now, authorities are awaiting the results of the technical report to move forward with the judicial investigation.
