The international meeting will address the sector's challenges amid technological and global changes

The Córdoba International Automotive Forum (Fiac) will take place on August 7 and 8 at the Córdoba Convention Center. It will be a unique space for exchange to analyze where the Argentine automotive industry is heading. In addition, the event will be complemented by the Auto Show, which will be held from August 7 to 10 at the Fair Complex.

Fiac is organized by the Automotive and Sustainable Mobility Cluster of Córdoba (Clauto), a network of companies and universities linked to the sector. During the sessions, topics such as automation, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, and the use of new energies will be discussed. Answers will also be sought to address the challenges facing the industry's global competitiveness.

One of the main panels will feature Pablo Sibilla, president of Renault Argentina, and Daniel Herrero, a key figure at Mercedes-Benz in the country. Both will share their views on the future of mobility and the possible paths for the regional automotive industry. The panel will be completed with the participation of international specialists who will delve into the ongoing changes.

A broad perspective on the sector's challenges

The global context is going through a period of accelerated change, which directly impacts automotive production and trade. New geopolitical alliances and regional tensions have altered the traditional export and import frameworks. In addition, there is a growing push for productive agreements between trade blocs with strategic affinity.

This transformation forces countries with an automotive industry, such as Argentina, to rethink their internal operating frameworks. Fiac offers a space to understand these dynamics and find new ways to integrate into the world. "Fiac's objective is to highlight the current state of the Argentine automotive value chain," said Gerardo Acosta, president of Clauto.

According to Acosta, topics such as sector digitalization, the use of artificial intelligence, the circular economy, and new logistics frameworks will be addressed. The evolution of powertrain systems and how these changes are transforming mobility will also be analyzed. The idea is to rethink not only how cars are produced, but also how people will move.

Global exchange and coordination among key stakeholders

The forum will bring together specialists from Argentina, Brazil, Italy, and Mexico, who will share their analyses of the sector's structural changes. The talks will allow for consideration of the country's integration into regional and international automotive production chains. In addition, there will be conferences on innovation and new technological trends affecting the global market.

The event will also create spaces for coordination among companies, universities, and applied research organizations. Through business rounds, technical workshops, and strategic luncheons, the aim will be to foster connections among all sector stakeholders. Priority will be given to training, technology transfer, and the development of local suppliers.

Clauto is made up of 39 organizations, including manufacturers, auto parts suppliers, and educational institutions with a strong presence in Córdoba. The province seeks to establish itself as an automotive innovation hub in the country, based on collaboration between the public and private sectors. Fiac is a concrete commitment to advancing this objective from a perspective open to the world.
