Córdoba: with a court injunction, environmentalists are going after the quebracho again
They went to court, and the removal of the tree in Villa Allende is currently on hold. There will be a meeting today
Environmentalists are not interested in progress.
Environmentalists do not think about the common good.
Environmentalists are not interested in the tree.
Environmentalists only want political gain.
We could write entire pages in this vein and still environmentalists would continue with their absurd and anti-progress stances.
They do not change.
They did not heed the justice system nor is it known if they will do so.
The fact is that the quebracho located in the middle of Padre Luchesse Avenue, which connects Sierras Chicas with Córdoba Capital, remains in the same place and doesn't allow the expansion works to continue.
This is a key road in Villa Allende, which leads to Route E53 where Córdoba International Airport and hundreds of companies and industries are located.
A week ago, the justice system ordered the removal of the environmentalists who went so far as to camp and chain themselves to the specimen.

Everything seemed to be proceeding normally. The machines were preparing to remove the tree and place it in another area in order to continue with the works.
However, everything suddenly came to a halt.
Injunction to prevent the removal of the tree in Villa Allende
According to reports, on Monday there was a new judicial filing to stop the imminent transplant of the tree.
This measure was promoted on Monday by the Foundation for the Defense of the Environment (FUNAM) and by the Córdoba Campus of the College of the Recipients of the Right Livelihood Award.

The filing, signed by Raúl Montenegro and environmental lawyer Juan Smith, was submitted to the Third Nomination Chamber for Administrative Litigation.
There, they requested an "in extremis" measure to immediately halt the work on the specimen, which they consider at risk of dying if the transfer is carried out.
What Córdoba's environmentalists argue regarding the Villa Allende tree
"The ruling issued by the Chamber lacked the drafting of a precise roadmap to comply with whatever is decided regarding the quebracho blanco. This is typical of environmental rulings, and it should not be avoided," they argued.

"Our on-site evaluations, which coincide with the facts reported by neighbors and members of the encampment before the Public Prosecutor's Office of Villa Allende, reveal total improvisation in the maneuvers for the transfer of the quebracho blanco. A series of regulations detailed in the judicial filing would also be violated. It is urgent that all tasks be stopped immediately, and that any attempt at transplantation cease until there is biological certainty," they added.
Meanwhile, Montenegro stated: "It is outrageous that while the government organizes an international event on climate, it allows the premeditated killing of a three-hundred-year-old tree."
Meeting regarding the quebracho in Villa Allende
This Tuesday, a dialogue is scheduled to take place between neighbors and members of the Quebracho Blanco movement, the mayor of Villa Allende, Pablo Cornet, and Julio Bañuelos, president of the provincial company Caminos de las Sierras, among others.
