Dante Gebel leads a historic aid campaign for Bahía Blanca

Neighborhood clubs will be responsible for ensuring that each donation reaches the affected families directly

Bahía Blanca is going through one of the most difficult moments in its recent history. The devastating climate catastrophe left the city without power, without internet, and with severe supply problems. In response to this critical situation, the renowned Argentine host and producer Dante Gebel launched a  large-scale solidarity campaign through his River Arena foundation.

As part of the  "Emergency Project (Mission Argentina)", Gebel coordinates the shipment of tons of essential supplies to assist affected families. This unprecedented humanitarian action is a true example of commitment and solidarity, mobilizing resources and people in record time.

What does the donation driven by Dante Gebel include?

The operation involves transporting a large number of products from Buenos Aires to Bahía Blanca, covering more than 650 kilometers. The city faces a total collapse of its basic infrastructure, making the arrival of aid even more urgent.

Among the donated supplies are:

  • 20,000 liters of bleach
  • 20,000 liters of mineral water
  • 20,000 packages of pasta
  • 2,000 liters of detergent
  • 12,000 bars of soap
  • 5,000 floor cloths
  • 6,000 units of lentils in tetra packs
  • 3,000 packages of diapers
  • 2,000 units of tomatoes in tetra packs
  • 1,000 cans of tomatoes
  • 7,000 packages of cookies

The distribution: a challenging but necessary task

The logistics of this aid are complex. The trucks with the merchandise will arrive at Club Pacífico, one of the few places currently able to receive cargo due to difficult access in many areas of Bahía Blanca. From there, the distribution will be handled by the National Union of Neighborhood Clubs, under the coordination of Pedro Villarreal and the work of local institutions.

Due to the flooding of numerous neighborhoods, the delivery will be carried out manually and in segments. The neighborhood clubs will be responsible for ensuring that each donation reaches the affected families directly.

The clubs that will receive and distribute the aid are:

  • Club Argentino
  • Club Calvento
  • Maldonado
  • Villa Ressia
  • Villa Muñiz
  • Defensores del Sur
  • Velocidad y Resistencia
  • Villa Harding Green
  • Estrella de Oro
  • Club Leones

"Helping doesn't bring us joy, it's our duty"

Dante Gebel firmly expressed the sense of responsibility that motivates this action:

"The works we do, the donations we promote, the construction of homes, and the help to various organizations fill us with happiness. But when the situation is as critical as the one Bahía Blanca faces, we can't say we're happy to help. There's no joy when what we provide is just the minimum and essential for someone to survive."

Gebel also emphasized that:

"Today, solidarity isn't a gesture, nor a political action. It's a duty. As an Argentine, it's what I'm supposed to do."

A mission that brings hope to Bahía Blanca

The operation by Dante Gebel and his River Arena foundation represents an example of concrete action in times of crisis. Help is on the way and, with it, the hope of beginning the reconstruction of a city that was left underwater.
