David Beckham received one of the United Kingdom's most prestigious honors by being knighted by King Charles III in a ceremony held at Windsor Castle, west of London. The former footballer for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and the English national team, among others, was recognized for his "services to sport and charity", according to the British nobility.
Accompanied by his wife Victoria Adams and his parents, Sandra and David, Beckham was invested with the title of Sir David Beckham, while his wife will now be known as Lady Victoria Beckham. During the traditional ceremony, the monarch performed the sword tap on the honoree's shoulders, as dictated by medieval tradition, and presented him with the medal of honor.

I've been fortunate enough to travel the world, and everyone wants to talk to me about our monarchy. That fills me with pride," Beckham told the BBC.
