It's a fact: Lionel Messi will continue wearing Inter Miami's jersey. The Argentine star has renewed his contract for three more years with the Florida franchise, as confirmed by the club itself in a video released at the Miami Freedom Park Stadium construction site, the modern complex that will be the new home of Las Garzas starting in 2026.

In the footage, titled "He's home", the 38-year-old Argentine captain is seen signing the new deal through December 2028 while wearing an elegant brown suit, with the construction progress visible in the background. The clip ends with a plaque engraved with the phrase "Freedom 10 dream", a nod to his number and the continuation of his story in MLS.

Meanwhile, the American league celebrated the announcement on its social media with a strong message: "Leo is staying in our league".

Messi arrived at Inter Miami in July 2023, after his time at Paris Saint-Germain and his long spell at Barcelona, where he became a legend. Since his arrival in North American soccer, he has played 82 official matches, in which he has scored 71 goals and provided 36 assists, in addition to winning the Leagues Cup and the MLS Supporters’ Shield.

With this renewal, the world champion reaffirms his commitment to Inter Miami's project and will seek to continue expanding an unparalleled career that already totals 889 goals and 399 assists in 1130 official matches.

In parallel, the team coached by Javier Mascherano is preparing to play tomorrow's first leg of the play-offs against Nashville, aiming to advance to the Conference semifinals.
