Days before the elections, an agent of Nicolás Maduro's regime entered Argentina.

This happens after Milei's government reported an intelligence operation with possible foreign influence

Amid the illegal intelligence operation by Kirchnerism with possible foreign influence, following the attempted assassination of President Javier Milei and just days before the legislative elections in Buenos Aires province, the entry of José Gregorio Noriega, an agent of dictator Nicolás Maduro's regime, into Argentina was recorded.

Noriega, a Venezuelan Chavista leader, entered the country in recent days, according to a report by the opposition party to Chavismo, Voluntad Popular. This agent has been under international sanctions since 2020, imposed by both the United States and the European Union, accused of collaborating with Nicolás Maduro's regime in the weakening of democracy in Venezuela.

A former deputy of the National Assembly, Noriega was expelled from Voluntad Popular in 2019 after his participation in the so-called "Operation Scorpio" was discovered, a bribery scheme promoted by Chavismo to co-opt opposition legislators.

The following year, in 2020, he played a leading role alongside the ruling party in a maneuver to forcibly seize control of the Venezuelan Parliament and place it at Maduro's service. In that context, the regime appointed him as legal representative of Voluntad Popular, displacing Leopoldo López from the party leadership.

In a statement, Voluntad Popular warned: "We have information that José Gregorio Noriega, sanctioned by the United States and by the European Union for conspiring with the Chavista narco-tyranny to steal Voluntad Popular's representation and destroy the legitimacy of the National Assembly, is currently in Argentina".

"Noriega, betraying Venezuelans, sold himself to the dictatorship and today moves freely around the world while brave brothers in the struggle remain kidnapped by Nicolás Maduro. President Javier Milei and Security Minister Patricia Bullrich: As firm allies of the Venezuelan democratic cause that you have proven to be, we request immediate action to detain the accomplices of the dictatorship who have caused so much harm and who pose a latent risk to Venezuela, Argentina, and the region. Those who commit crimes must pay!", the document reads.

Possible foreign interference in the elections

Recently, Javier Milei's government filed a formal complaint with the Federal Judiciary over an "illegal intelligence operation" aimed at disinforming and destabilizing the Argentine electoral process. According to the filing, it would be a planned attack with alleged foreign interference, whose central objective would be to influence the upcoming legislative elections.

According to the official statement, the maneuver consisted of the illegal capture of private audio recordings belonging to the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, as well as other high-ranking officials. The material was allegedly manipulated or disseminated gradually in order to plant suspicion, generate chaos, and spread disinformation to illegitimately influence the upcoming legislative elections.
