The verbal war between Pablo Toviggino and Ricardo Caruso Lombardi has reignited with intensity. The AFA treasurer and president of the Federal Council posted a message on his X account that rekindled the conflict with the former coach, whom he described as an "opportunist," "blackmailer," and responsible for a campaign against president Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia.
In his post, Toviggino directly targeted part of the Argentine sports journalism community, with a text full of irony and accusations: "Sports journalism in Argentina. Some are frustrated referees with cases of 'sticky fingers'. Also former coaches turned journalist-politicians and opportunists. One of them, as you can hear, admits that his only argument is hatred and that he's going to 'kill' the AFA president because he never called him. Blackmailer! Gentlemen, stop lying to the people".

"YOU HATE ARGENTINE SOCCER, YOU HATE WHAT'S POPULAR. And precisely our country's emblem (soccer) is the MOST POPULAR OF SPORTS. In short…", he concluded.
The message, which went viral within minutes, included audio recordings of Caruso Lombardi in which the former coach refers to Claudio Tapia and several First Division clubs in a derogatory tone. In one of the clips, Caruso asserts that he's "going to kill" the AFA president, although he clarifies that he does so "figuratively," due to alleged personal conflicts.
