Devil May Cry: Netflix confirms second season of the animated series
The platform officially confirmed the renewal for a second season following the resounding success of the series
The animated series Devil May Cry, based on Capcom's successful video game, has become one of the most-watched titles in Netflix's catalog in recent months.
After its excellent reception among anime and video game fans, the platform officially confirmed the renewal for a second season, marking a new milestone in the trend of video game adaptations to the world of adult animation.
A new wave of successful adaptations

Following in the footsteps of productions like Arcane, Secret Level, and Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry positions itself as a story filled with action, suspense, and darkness. The story takes place in a universe where the boundaries between the human and demonic worlds blur, and its protagonist, Dante, a solitary demon hunter, must face infernal creatures while discovering that his own destiny is intimately linked to the balance between both dimensions.
"A storm is brewing in the underworld, and luckily, more Devil May Cry is coming soon," announced Netflix in an official statement.
High-level production and great expectations
The series features the creative direction of Adi Shankar, responsible for other notable animated projects like Castlevania and Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. His characteristic style, which combines stylized violence with a deep narrative approach, gives the series an adult and sophisticated tone that distinguishes it within the genre.

The animation was done by Studio Mir, known for its work on The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Its visual quality was one of the most praised aspects of the first season, along with a high-profile voice cast led by Johnny Yong Bosch, Scout Taylor-Compton, Hoon Lee, and Chris Coppola.
Second season on the way
Although the release date hasn't been announced yet, the confirmation of a second season generates great expectations. The plot promises to delve deeper into Dante's infernal universe, expanding its mythology and adding new characters, enemies, and revelations.
With this renewal, Devil May Cry not only reaffirms its success but also consolidates Netflix's commitment to animated series based on video games, a niche that continues to grow and capture both new viewers and fans of the original franchises.
