The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that he had a conversation with the far-left Democratic Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, in the context of immigration operations in the state.
Through a message posted on his social network Truth Social, the President stated that it was the Governor himself who contacted the White House to request federal assistance. According to Trump's account, the exchange was positive, amid the federal government's efforts related to the fight against illegal immigration and crime.
“Governor Tim Walz called me to ask that we cooperate in Minnesota. It was an excellent call, and in fact, we seemed to be on the same wavelength”, the President wrote.

According to his post, during the conversation he explained to the state leader that the focus of the operations is on identifying and detaining criminals. In that regard, Trump indicated that he told Walz that he would put the matter in the hands of Tom Homan, the border czar, one of the main figures in his immigration policy.
“I told Governor Walz that I would ask Tom Homan to call him, and that what we are looking for are all the criminals they have in their custody”, the President said in his message.
Trump also maintained that the Governor understood the proposal and expressed his agreement with the approach adopted by the federal government. “The Governor, very respectfully, understood it, and I will speak with him soon”, he added.

In that regard, he listed several districts where similar operations were carried out: “We have had tremendous success in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Tennessee, New Orleans, Louisiana, and in practically every other place we have visited”, he pointed out.
Trump also stated that Minnesota was not the exception and asserted that crime rates already show a downward trend. “And even in Minnesota, crime has decreased considerably”, he said in his post.
The message from the U.S. President comes in a context of unrest caused by far-left groups, which seek to put an end to federal immigration operations and prevent the deportation of dangerous undocumented criminals.
