Incidents and fights on General Paz after River's defeat against Platense
Moments after the match between both teams ended, there were clashes between the two factions in the Vicente López area
The stadiums of River and Platense are located a few kilometers apart, the Millonario's is in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Nuñez (although geographically it is on the border of Belgrano) located in the northern part of the City, while the Calamar's is situated in Vicente López, already in Buenos Aires province, but adjacent to Avenida General Paz.
This avenue is a key route for both the entry and exit of River fans, whether in private cars or buses from different branches, and it was the perfect place for the clash between the fans of both teams after yesterday's match.

A total of 85,000 people attended the Estadio Monumental, so both the entry and dispersal were massive. Around 11:15 PM, most of the buses coming from the Western Zone, with hundreds of River fans on board, were traveling along General Paz. Upon reaching the vicinity of the Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López, they encountered a large group of Platense fans who had gathered to celebrate the historic advance to the semifinals.
From the General Paz service road, they began throwing stones at the buses, but some private vehicles passing through the area were also affected. One of the larger buses stopped on the avenue, blocking two lanes. Due to the limited police presence, several fans got off the vehicle to respond with stones and gathered with supporters coming in other buses.

Once gathered, the River fans moved toward the service road, and scenes of tension with chases ensued. Minutes later, the situation calmed down, although it is clear that none of this would have happened if the security operation had been properly planned.
It is strange that, knowing the location of both stadiums and knowing that General Paz is a usual transit route for fans, the possibility of an incident like this was not anticipated by the security area of Jorge Macri.
