The official calendar of the Ministry of the Interior confirms that November 2025 will feature a new long weekend. This is due to the combination of a non-working day and a national holiday. The measure aims to promote domestic tourism and provide a boost ahead of the summer season.
The national holiday for the National Sovereignty Day has been moved to Monday, November 24. It will be added to the non-working day on Friday the 21st, thus creating an extra-long weekend.

Friday, November 21
Friday, November 21 has been established as a non-working day by Decree 1027/2024. This type of day is subject to each employer's decision.
According to the Employment Contract Law, those who work on that day will receive their regular salary. In contrast, public employees usually receive the day off, which will extend the weekend to four days for much of the country.
Monday, November 24: national holiday for Sovereignty Day
The national holiday for National Sovereignty Day, originally celebrated on November 20, has been moved to Monday the 24th, in accordance with Law 27.399 that regulates movable holidays. This day commemorates the Battle of Vuelta de Obligado in 1845.
