Family drug gang dismantled in Villa Nueva: over 12 kilograms (26.5 pounds) of cocaine seized

They operated near the local casino and in Villa María; three people have been arrested and charged with drug dealing

A drug trafficking gang made up of members of the same family was dismantled in recent hours in Villa Nueva. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Police Force (FPA) after two months of investigation. The organization sold narcotics in different areas of Villa Nueva and also in the neighboring city of Villa María.

The procedure was carried out in a house located on Intendente Paviotti Street, in downtown Villa Nueva, Córdoba. Three people were arrested there: two men aged 43 and 38, and a woman aged 47, all members of the same family unit. The gang consisted of a couple and the woman's brother, who managed the distribution of drugs.

During the raid, the FPA seized 12.394 kilograms (27.32 pounds) of cocaine, equivalent to more than 61,000 doses ready for sale. Doses of marijuana, cash, and items related to illegal sales were also found. The operation resulted from anonymous reports received through the 0800 line of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The gang was a repeat offender and operated near public spaces and residential areas

The criminal group carried out its activities near the Villa Nueva casino and in private homes. The raided residence served as a point of sale and consumption, where regular consumers entered. This caused concern among neighbors due to the proximity to public places and the constant movement in the area.

The arrested woman had a record for drug trafficking with final convictions served in 2015 and 2019. Her involvement reinforces the organization's repeat offender profile and her knowledge of the illegal drug market. The three suspects were charged with violating National Narcotics Law No. 23,737.

By order of the Villa María Anti-Narcotics Prosecutor's Office, the detainees were transferred to judicial headquarters. The FPA emphasized the importance of citizen reports to advance investigations of this kind. It also reaffirmed its commitment to the fight against drug trafficking in Villa Nueva, Villa María, and the region.
