Drug trafficker arrested in La Calera: he had been released and continued selling drugs
He was arrested along with another man, who also had a criminal record. They had cocaine, marijuana, and cash
The Anti-Narcotics Police Force (FPA) arrested two men for drug dealing. This took place at the E-55 highway toll, near La Calera. Authorities had been following them for months together with the Public Prosecutor's Office.
In the vehicle they were traveling in, several doses of cocaine were found. Authorities also seized cash that was allegedly the proceeds of drug sales. Both individuals have prior records related to drug trafficking.
One of them, 56 years old, was on parole at the time of the arrest. The other is 40 years old and is originally from Bialet Massé, as is his accomplice. Both remain in custody at the disposal of the Anti-Narcotics Prosecutor's Office.

Raids in Córdoba city
After the arrest, the FPA raided two residences linked to the suspects in the city of Córdoba. In the properties, authorities found 123 doses of marijuana and cannabis sativa seeds. Authorities also seized money, cell phones, scales, and relevant notes.
The items were placed at the disposal of the prosecutor's office. Authorities stated that it was an active sales point. The entire procedure was supervised by the MPF.
The detainees were transferred to a police facility. They will remain there until the Judiciary orders their transfer to a prison. They will be charged with possession and sale of narcotics.

Another case of revolving door justice
The incident reopens the debate on recidivism in drug trafficking cases. One of the detainees had already been convicted but was on parole. Despite his criminal record, he remained involved in street-level drug dealing.
Cases like this call into question the early release system. The lack of effective controls leaves the door open to repeat offenses. In this case, a lengthy investigation was necessary to apprehend him again.
