Farewell and hired live: the unexpected twist in Luciana Elbusto's life

Luciana Elbusto  experienced one of the most surreal days of her television career. After being fired from Net TV for revealing a secret relationship with Diego Brancatelli,the journalist ended up being hired live by LAM,  the show ofÁngel de Brito  on América TV.

Everything happened within hours and in front of the cameras. What seemed like a day of professional crisis unexpectedly turned into a new media beginning.

The breaking of the pact and the immediate dismissal

Days earlier, Elbusto had said she was suspended from the program ISPA Todo al revés, which she co-hosted with Diego Suárez. The situation worsened when she publicly confirmed her romantic relationship with Brancatelli, which, according to her own words, had lasted at least five years.

This testimony broke a silence agreement she had made with the journalist and his wife,  Cecilia Insinga.According to Luciana, both she and the couple knew about the relationship, but they agreed to deny it publicly.

The decision from  Net TV  was swift:  on Monday, May 19, she was definitively dismissed. Since then, Elbusto not only lost her job, but she was also banned from entering the channel.  "I was left outside, in the cold, camping. They didn't even let me get my clothes from the locker room,"  she recounted live.

From the street to the studio: an unexpected television move

While she was telling her side from the door of Net TV, in a live broadcast with LAM, Ángel de Brito surprised her with a direct proposal:  "Wouldn't you like to be an angelita?" Luciana, visibly moved, accepted immediately.

"Welcome to LAM, then," celebrated De Brito.  "Come over here, we'll sign the contract live, and you start tomorrow," he added, wasting no time.

The journalist traveled from Barracas to the studio in Palermo. She greeted her new colleagues, sat in her new chair, and read the contract. Minutes later, she signed in front of the camera and officially became "the new angelita."

A media crisis that turned into an opportunity

Luciana acknowledged that her appearance on Yanina Latorre's show —a direct competitor of Net TV— was another reason for her dismissal. However, she explained that she had promised it some time ago and couldn't refuse when the story came to light.

"I understand that I put them at risk, but I was getting calls from everywhere," she confessed. She also clarified that she lied at the time because she needed to process what had happened.

Despite the scandal, Elbusto managed to turn the blow into a media opportunity. In just a few hours, she went from being fired with her belongings withheld to celebrating her incorporation into one of the most-watched shows in Argentine entertainment.

A media move that undoubtedly got everyone talking.
