Five Chilean citizens were deported from Argentina after being arrested in the city of Neuquén, where authorities discovered that they had entered the country illegally and that one of them was carrying a firearm with ammunition.

The operation was carried out after an intervention by the Neuquén Police Crime Directorate in a hotel located on Olascoaga Avenue, in the provincial capital. According to police sources, around 7:00 p.m., the researchers received a notice about the presence of several foreign citizens staying there.

One of the detainees had a request for arrest in Chile.

About half an hour later, the group was intercepted as they were leaving the hotel. During the procedure, the officers detected inconsistencies in the filiatory data that the individuals had provided, so they decided to delay them

Upon reviewing his belongings, officers discovered that one of the men was carrying a hidden firearm. It was a 9-millimeter gun along with two magazines, 48 ammunition of the same caliber and a drum magazine with capacity

Faced with the discovery, the Office of the Attorney General for Action ordered the kidnapping of the weapon and charged the suspect with the crime of illegal possession of a firearm.

At the same time, the National Directorate of Migration intervened in the case and confirmed that the five Chilean citizens had entered Argentine territory irregularly. Faced with this situation, the agency ordered their immediate expulsion from the country

The individuals were returned to Chile and referred to their security forces.

After the administrative decision, those involved were taken into custody to the border, in an operation that had a special security device. The procedure was carried out in a coordinated manner between the Neuquén Police, the National Directorate of Migration and the Chilean authorities, including the Chilean Investigative Police and the Carabineros

Once the detainees were handed over to the security forces of the neighboring country, it was also confirmed that one of the five individuals had a valid arrest warrant in Chile. For this reason, he was immediately arrested by the Chilean authorities, although no details were released about the crime for which he was wanted
