Flávio Bolsonaro once again denounced this Sunday a political and judicial persecution in Brazil and pointed directly at Rede Globo, after claiming that the broadcaster allied with the regime of Lula Da Silva backed out of conducting an exclusive interview when he demanded it be aired in full, without cuts and without thematic restrictions.
“I was contacted by several media this week, including Rede Globo, which invited me for an exclusive interview. I accepted with a simple condition: that it be aired in full, without cuts and without prohibited topics. The broadcaster preferred not to proceed,” wrote the Brazilian leader in a statement released from the United States on his X account.
Flávio Bolsonaro denounced the attempted operation that I intend to set up Globo for him.
Flávio also stated that the program Fantástico was preparing a report on his situation without granting him an equivalent space to respond. “If the largest media group in Brazil is afraid, it has no moral grounds to judge me or attempt to destroy my reputation,” he expressed.
The right-wing politician again justified his departure from the country and rejected the interpretation that he left Brazil to distance himself permanently from politics. “I am not leaving Brazil, I am leaving for Brazil,” he affirmed. According to Bolsonaro, just minutes after the electoral results, judicial measures began to be adopted against him. In his message, he stated that the decisions are part of a political persecution and questioned the impartiality of the process.
The leader also mentioned the situation of his father, Jair Bolsonaro, and his brother Eduardo, both victims of the regime's intervention in the judiciary in Brazil. “This is not democracy and is far from being a fair and impartial judicial process,” Flávio maintained.
Flávio Bolsonaro entered the United States on a flight from Argentina
From U.S. territory, he assured that he will continue giving interviews and announced that he will seek to do so under his own conditions. “In the coming days, I will talk to major national and international media. No cuts, no filter. Whoever wants to hear will hear what no one else can say while being in Brazil,” he stated.
His stay in the United States also received explicit support from Donald Trump. The American president declared on Saturday that Flávio can stay in the country “as long as he wants” and stated that he was treated “very poorly,” although he clarified that for now he does not plan to meet with him in person.
