A flight attendant from Aerolíneas Argentinas was arrested at Ezeiza airport while attempting to enter the country with items valued at over $58 million. The 64-year-old woman was detected by security when passing through a scanner with undeclared merchandise.
The discovery included watches, high-end cell phones, and jewelry that raised suspicions and led to an ongoing judicial investigation.

What was found in the flight attendant's luggage
When inspecting her luggage, security personnel discovered:
- Four Rolex watches
- Ten iPhones (models 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 13, 13 Pro Max, and 14 Pro Max)
- Gold and diamond jewelry: chains, rings, earrings, bracelet, and brooch
- Eight gold coins
- Two other lower-value cell phones
Cash seized at her home
After the operation, the judiciary ordered a search of the woman's residence, identified as María del Carmen Patané.
There, 93,920 dollars and nearly 16,000 euros in cash were seized, reinforcing suspicions of smuggling.

The case and the charges
The flight attendant was charged with attempted smuggling and was prohibited from leaving the country while the investigation progresses.
The case is under the jurisdiction of the National Economic Criminal Court No. 5 in the federal judiciary.

Confirmation of authenticity and value of the items
An expert appointed by the Supreme Court confirmed that the jewelry is authentic, and the official appraisal exceeded $58 million.
