A new scandal is shaking the province of Buenos Aires and is striking directly at the institutional framework that Kirchnerism built in the name of human rights and the protection of children. A former Buenos Aires provincial official, with active involvement in Human Rights organizations and a senior position in the Childhood and Adolescence area, has been accused of at least six instances of sexual abuse against minors in a historic home in the city of La Plata.
The accused is G. D. F., who served as director of the Region of Care Homes within the Provincial Agency for Childhood and Adolescence, which reports to the Ministry of Community Development of Buenos Aires Province. After the complaint became known, he was removed both from his provincial position and from his role within Hogar Obra Padre Cajade.

The complaint was filed at least two weeks ago by relatives of the alleged victims. According to the judicial filing, the incidents allegedly began around 2015 and were repeated over several years. In total, at least six episodes of abuse are under investigation. Some of the complainants are now adults, while others are between 15 and 18 years old.
According to the initial information in the case file, the abuses allegedly took place inside Hogar Obra Padre Cajade, an institution that has operated for more than 30 years as a shelter for minors in vulnerable situations in the city of La Plata.
The case became significantly more public after a report published by a local outlet, which stated that F. was one of the adults who was in charge during the night shifts at the institution.
After the case was opened, Hogar del Padre Cajade decided to remove him immediately, banning him from entering any of its facilities and from having any type of contact with the children. Meanwhile, the Provincial Agency for Childhood and Adolescence removed him from the senior position he held, a decision that, according to the Ministry headed by Andrés "El Cuervo" Larroque, is final.
The investigation is in the hands of UFI No. 11 of La Plata, led by prosecutor Álvaro Garganta. So far, the accused has not been arrested. The victims' relatives have expressed their fear that he might flee the country and have warned that he is a person "with political connections and influence". Judicial sources have acknowledged that this is a "complex case" and have confirmed that various evidentiary measures have already been ordered.
The Ministry has stated that there is an ongoing judicial process and has emphasized that the removal was immediate once the complaint became known. "Today we will have a meeting to address that issue", a spokesperson for the ministry stated.
