Formula 1: Gasly spoke after Alpine's new blunder and criticized his car
The Frenchman once again fell short of scoring points for his country's team and pointed to the poor performance of his car
The words of Pierre Gasly after a day to forget in Miami once again highlighted the internal tensions at Alpine. The French driver, who finished in 13th place, showed great disappointment with the car's poor performance and launched a criticism that reignited alarms about the direction the team is heading.
In the post-race conference, the Frenchman didn't mince words when summarizing what happened at the United States circuit. "We're simply too slow," he said bluntly. His assessment was direct and made it clear that the biggest issue was the lack of pace from the start of the weekend.
Although he started the race from the pitlane (an extra difficulty), the Frenchman didn't want to use it as an excuse. "We knew it was going to be difficult, but the car wasn't up to the task," he acknowledged. With evident concern, he explained that the performance was far below what the team had shown in other races of the championship.

Gasly insisted that the team must make adjustments quickly with the Emilia-Romagna GP in mind: "There are many questions to answer before Imola." Comparing what happened in Miami with previous performances in Jeddah and Bahrain, where the team achieved better results, he exposed the instability that has marked the season.
Finally, the driver left a strong message about what's coming: "The car is going to be the same. With that car in Jeddah and Bahrain, we were fighting for points and today we're very far from achieving them. So, yes, it's clear that something didn't go right next weekend."
Amid this complicated scenario, Jack Doohan's bad moment adds more uncertainty. After the accident in Miami, everything indicates that he won't race again, and, according to European media, Franco Colapinto appears as the main candidate to take his place in Imola.
