It was confirmed by the head of the Argentine Air Force, Gustavo Valverde, during an interview
In an exclusive interview on Letra Chica with Nicolás Promanzio, the head of the Argentine Air Force, Gustavo Valverde, confirmed historical details about the arrival of the first F-16 fighter jets acquired by the country from Denmark.
During the program, Valverde reported that four of the first six aircraft will arrive in Argentina flying directly from Denmark, piloted by Argentine pilots.
"They're going to come with Argentine pilots. All six aircraft are coming in flight," Valverde stated, marking a milestone in the modernization of the national air fleet. According to his statement, the delivery of the first six fighter jets is scheduled for the first half of December 2025. Of these six, four will be two-seaters and two single-seaters, and Argentine pilots will occupy the rear cockpits of the two-seaters.

The transfer operation for the aircraft will have specialized logistical support. "All six aircraft are coming with intermediate stops so the crews can rest and with refuelers, which are provided by the United States through the KC-135," Valverde explained. In addition, a C-130 from the Argentine Air Force will accompany the entire journey to provide additional support during the flight.
The arrival of these fighter jets is part of the ambitious Peace Condor program, aimed at modernizing and strengthening the operational capacity of the Air Force. The acquisition of the F-16s by the Government of Javier Milei includes 24 combat aircraft, along with simulators, associated equipment, and pilot training, marking a significant technological leap in the history of Argentine military aviation.
The coming years are expected to see the gradual arrival of the remaining F-16s, completing the fleet and consolidating a historic process that positions Argentina as one of the few countries in the region with state-of-the-art fighter jets and pilots trained in their direct operation from abroad.
