Actor George Clooney told E! News that the sequel to the "Ocean's" franchise (La gran estafa) already has a budget approved by Warner Bros. and that filming could begin next year. The expectation is that Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle will return.
The reunion of the original cast and the confirmation of the budget mark a key step for the project, which Clooney had hinted at in 2023. According to Variety, David Leitch ("The Fall Guy," "Bullet Train") will be the director of this new installment.

Shooting plan and cast reunion
Clooney explained that the main challenge now is coordinating schedules: "We'll probably start filming in about nine or ten months," he indicated.
Regarding reuniting with his colleagues, he commented: "Brad, Matt, Don, and Julia are still great friends. We had dinner together yesterday, and working together again would be a lot of fun."
The story behind the "Ocean's" franchise
The original trilogy, directed by Steven Soderbergh, began in 2001 with "Ocean's Eleven", which grossed more than $450 million worldwide. It was followed by "Ocean's Twelve" (2004, $362 million) and "Ocean's Thirteen" (2007, $311 million). In addition, the spin-off "Ocean's 8" (2018) starring Sandra Bullock reached $297 million.
The script and inspiration for the sequel
Clooney told Uproxx that the new script is "really good." Although he avoided officially calling it "Ocean's 14," he said the idea follows a style similar to "Going in Style" from 1979, about three retirees who plan a big heist.
Differences from other projects in the franchise
This sequel is independent from the prequel that was previously announced, which will focus on a prequel set in 1960s Europe and will feature Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
That film will be directed by Jay Roach and written by Carrie Solomon.
