Giovanni Simeone was sold to Torino: How much money will River receive?
Cholo's eldest son will join Il Toro after his time at Napoli, and Millonario will keep a share of the total amount
River continues to reap the rewards of its renowned work in the youth divisions. Many of the players developed in Núñez remain active in Europe and, thanks to the solidarity mechanism established by FIFA, the club keeps receiving income from their transfers. The most recent case is Giovanni Simeone, who will leave Napoli to join Torino in Italy.
After an agreement confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the striker will be transferred to Il Toro for 8 million euros. This Tuesday, he is traveling to Turin to undergo his medical examination and sign his contract, after speaking with coach Marco Baroni.

In this context, River is entitled to 3.5% of the operation amount, which equals 280,000 euros, for his development between 2008 and 2016. This sum arrives through the application of the solidarity mechanism, which distributes a percentage of each transfer's value among the clubs where the player was between 12 and 23 years old.
Cholito, son of Diego Simeone, joined the Millonario in 2008, when his father was the first team's coach. In 2011, he signed his first professional contract for three years and made his debut in 2013 under Ramón Díaz. He later played under Marcelo Gallardo, but due to a lack of continuity, he left to start his European career.

In the last three seasons, Simeone wore Napoli's jersey, with which he won two Serie A titles (2023 and 2025). There, he played 103 matches, scored 14 goals, and provided 4 assists, although most of his appearances were as a substitute. This is reflected in the last season, where Simeone started in only one of the 33 matches he played, and contributed 2 goals and 2 assists.
