Ciclón settled all its debts with FIFA and is waiting for formal confirmation to present new signings and remain active in the transfer market

San Lorenzo took a key step toward normalizing its sporting and administrative situation. Recently, the club finished paying the 14 transfer bans that had been imposed on the club, eleven of them in recent days, and is now waiting for FIFA's formal confirmation in order to officially register the reinforcements that arrived in this transfer window.

Although there has not been any official communication so far, the club's management explained that the delay is due to an administrative matter. Currently, the only thing pending is for the payments to be reflected in the system of the international body and for the information to be updated on its website. Once that process is completed, the club will announce its new signings through its official channels.

The financial regularization was one of the priorities of the interim leadership headed by Sergio Costantino, who took office in December after the power vacuum caused by the end of Marcelo Moretti's term. In an initial stage, the club brought the salaries of the staff and the professional squad up to date, then it moved forward with the settlement of the debts that led to the transfer bans.

Meanwhile, as it was resolving that front, Ciclón did not stop in the market. Mauricio Cardillo, a midfielder who arrived on a free transfer from Independiente Rivadavia, is already training with the squad, and Gregorio Rodríguez, a forward who came from Melgar and had previously played for Instituto, completed his medical examination on Monday and is one step away from being unveiled.

In addition, the management is keeping negotiations open to strengthen the team coached by Damián Ayude. Gonzalo Ábrego, a midfielder from Godoy Cruz, is believed to have a verbal agreement to join on loan, while Jonathan Torres, currently at Cerro Porteño and formerly at Sarmiento, has emerged as another attacking option. The coaching staff is also looking to fill the left-back position after the departure of Elías Báez.

The club is confident that FIFA will formally lift the transfer bans by Friday, which would allow the reinforcements to be cleared to play for the debut against Lanús in the Torneo Apertura. Added to that is some favorable news:AFA has decided to extend the transfer window deadline by one more week, giving Cuervo crucial leeway to complete signings and strengthen the squad ahead of the three competitions it will face this semester.
