Google announced 15,000 free scholarships in Argentina for training in AI and digital trades with official certification
Google Argentina announced a new round of 15,000 scholarships aimed at training in artificial intelligence and digital skills. The initiative aims to close the digital gap and prepare young people and adults for future jobs.
The proposal is part of the Grow with Google program and is being developed together with Fundación Compromiso and Potrero Digital, organizations that promote inclusion through digital education.
What courses are included in the program?
Since its launch in 2022, the program has already trained more than 37,000 people in Argentina. The training is completely free and is offered in partnership with Coursera.
The main available areas include:
- Data analysis
- Digital marketing
- Cybersecurity
- UX design
- IT support
- Project management
2025 updates: artificial intelligence courses
This year, two key trainings in artificial intelligence are being added. One of them is the course "Fundamentals of Prompting for Generative AI." It lasts less than 10 hours, includes practical exercises, and provides official certification.
It is designed to teach how to give clear instructions to tools like Gemini, Google's AI assistant. In addition, the course "Google AI Fundamentals" remains available, which is Coursera's most popular course globally in 2024.
Why is it important to train in AI today?
According to a survey by Randstad and Manpower, profiles in AI, automation, and data analysis are among the most in demand in the country. However, 62% of companies state that they have difficulty filling these positions.
With these scholarships, Google seeks to reduce that gap and facilitate access to a job market with high future prospects.
Institutional support
At the launch event, held at the Science Cultural Center, more than 350 young people participated in a practical workshop on AI. National authorities and Google representatives were also present.
Víctor Valle, General Director of Google Argentina, stated: "Argentine talent is exceptional. AI is a historic opportunity to lead a global transformation".
Innovation Secretary Darío Genua said: "There is a political decision to make Argentina a relevant player in the AI revolution".
