El Gordo Dan resigns his candidacy following Cristina Kirchner's prison sentence.

Daniel Parisini withdrew from the electoral stage with irony after the Court confirmed the conviction against Cristina

Argentine politics is undergoing a historic transformation. The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation upheld the criminal conviction against Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, former president and central figure of Kirchnerism, thus sealing her disqualification from holding public office after being sentenced to six years in prison for fraudulent administration. The ruling marks an institutional milestone: Justice is once again functioning without political pressure, and the privileges of the caste are beginning to crumble.

However, the impact of the ruling was not limited to the judicial corridors or Peronist activism. In the libertarian ecosystem, the news triggered a swift reaction: Daniel Parisini, better known as El Gordo Dan, a streamer and liberal activist with a strong presence on social media, announced the withdrawal of his candidacy for Buenos Aires provincial deputy for the Third Electoral Section, the same district where Cristina intended to run for a seat.

Parisini's announcement was as sharp as it was ironic: "I have decided to withdraw my candidacy for deputy for the Third Electoral Section of the province of Buenos Aires for strictly personal reasons," he posted on his X account, with a tone loaded with political intent.

The gesture was a clear allusion to the new post-ruling scenario: with Cristina out of the race, there was no longer any point in facing her at the polls. "My name was mentioned a lot, of course. I beat Cristina hands down. That's the truth," he had said days earlier on a broadcast of the Carajo channel, when the former vice president had announced, in a defiant tone, her return to the political arena for the September 7 legislative elections.

El Gordo Dan's candidacy had emerged as a legitimate provocation from the youth sectors of La Libertad Avanza, who sought to challenge Peronism's territorial power in the southern area of Greater Buenos Aires with humor, strategy, and forcefulness. His figure was quickly backed by officials from the ruling party, such as the Secretary of Worship Nahuel Sotelo, who referred to the situation with institutional clarity:

"Cristina's timing doesn't affect us. For us, it's still too early to talk about candidacies. Cristina was in a hurry for a more judicial reason because it's the only banner she has left. If Justice rules against her, she'll take up the banner of proscription," he stated the Thursday before the ruling.

Cristina's move was interpreted as a desperate attempt to regain immunity or play the victim amid her judicial downfall. However, Tuesday's ruling left her strategy without support and definitively closed the door to Congress.
