The arrival of Vozinha at Colo Colo not only sparked expectations due to his performance in the last World Cup but also due to an unexpected regulatory obstacle. The experienced goalkeeper from Cape Verde, who signed an 18-month contract with the Chilean club, will not be able to display the nickname that made him famous during the World Cup on his jersey.

The reason lies in Article 36 of the Bases of the Primera División Championship of the National Professional Football Association (ANFP), which states that players must only carry their paternal surname, maternal surname, or both on the back of their jersey. The regulation also expressly prohibits the use of nicknames, aliases, or stage names.

Thus, the goalkeeper will have to compete with the inscription "Évora" or "Dias", unless the regulation is modified.

According to reports in the Chilean press, the only possibility for the goalkeeper to use the name "Vozinha" would be if Colo Colo promotes a modification of the regulation before the Council of Presidents of the ANFP.

As long as that option does not progress, the player will have to adapt to the current rules and play with one of his surnames, as is the case with the rest of the participants in the Chilean tournament.

Beyond the regulatory situation, details of the contract of the 40-year-old goalkeeper were also revealed. According to local media, Vozinha will earn a salary close to 47 million Chilean pesos per month, equivalent to approximately 48,000 dollars, an income that places him in an intermediate range within the Colo Colo squad.
