A leak suggests that GTA 6 will allow artists to upload exclusive music to the game and manage their own radio station

A recent leak suggests that Grand Theft Auto VI could allow artists to upload unreleased music directly to the game. This innovation would open a new way to experience music within the GTA universe.

The information emerged on the podcast The Rory & Mal Show, where producer Jermaine Dupri revealed details that, without mentioning it explicitly, would be linked to the highly anticipated GTA 6.

What is this new music feature about?

According to Dupri, the idea would be for artists like Drake to have their own radio station in the game and upload tracks that aren't available anywhere else. This would include never-before-heard songs, uploaded directly within the title.

The system would allow each artist to manage their musical content, creating a unique experience for players. The proposal would move away from the typical virtual concerts seen in other games like Fortnite.

GTA 6 would follow the path started by GTA Online

Rockstar has already been strongly committed to music within its games. Since 2018, GTA Online has integrated real DJs like Solomun, Dixon, and The Blessed Madonna as playable characters in nightclubs.

It has also launched stations curated by artists like Rosalía and Arca, and even incorporated missions with Dr. Dre where unreleased tracks premiered. With each step, the intersection between gaming and music culture has become deeper.

A new stage for music releases

If this feature in GTA 6 is confirmed, video games could become the new stage for exclusive releases. The relationship between artists and players would become much more direct and dynamic.

Musicians would not only be heard within the game, but could also use it as a platform to reach the public.

How credible is this leak?

Although Rockstar hasn't confirmed the information yet, the clues seem consistent with its track record. For years, the company has been committed to integrating music in innovative ways.

Moreover, the fact that it is Jermaine Dupri, a renowned and Grammy-winning producer, gives weight to the leak.

When is GTA 6 being released?

The new installment of the saga is scheduled for release in 2025. Although there is no exact date yet, leaks and official announcements already position it as one of the most anticipated releases in gaming.

If this new feature is confirmed, GTA 6 could mark a turning point in how music is connected with video games.
