In a routine operation carried out by the General Directorate of Road Police of Córdoba, officers arrested an adult man who was transporting a loaded war weapon without the corresponding documentation.
The procedure took place on Sunday night, at one of the strategic vehicle control checkpoints located at the entrances to the city of Deán Funes, in the north of the province.

During the search, the uniformed officers discovered a 9mm caliber firearm.

What most alerted the authorities was that the pistol was "in working condition" (loaded and ready to be fired), representing an imminent danger both for the officers and for third parties.
In view of the lack of legal permits for the possession and carrying of a weapon of this caliber, the officers proceeded to the immediate arrest of the driver.
Meanwhile, the weapon was seized and preserved as evidence for the investigation.
The detainee was transferred to the Deán Funes police station, where he was placed in custody at the disposal of the Prosecutor's Office on duty.
Authorities expect that in the coming hours his procedural situation will be defined within the framework of a case for illegal possession of a war firearm.
