Within the framework of the first Security Meeting of YPF, the president and CEO of the company, Horacio Marín, emphasized the firm's commitment to an organizational culture centered on safety. The event, which brought together workers, suppliers, and management teams, focused on strengthening joint efforts to achieve operational excellence without compromising people's integrity.
"YPF has a strong safety culture. There's no band-aid that justifies a cubic meter. We all have the obligation to stop activity when people's safety is at risk. That's the company we want to work for," Marín emphasized during the opening of the meeting.
Historic reduction in accident rates
This commitment doesn't remain just words: the company's indicators show a sustained decrease in accident levels. According to internal data, the Accident Frequency Index (AFI) went from 0.918 accidents per million hours worked in 2015 to 0.09 currently. A similar achievement is observed in the Traffic Accident Frequency Index (TAFI), which decreased from 0.22 to 0.049 accidents per million kilometers traveled.
