YPF supports Argentine students heading to PetroBowl 2025
During the preparation, the students received mentoring from professionals in YPF's Upstream area
YPF and Fundación YPF (FYPF) support ten Argentine university students who will represent the country in the international PetroBowl competition, one of the most important in the world in the energy field. The regional stage will take place in Rio de Janeiro, where the teams will seek a place in the final phase of the competition, which will be held in Houston, United States.
The teams are made up of students from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA), who obtained first and second place, respectively, in the national stage of PetroBowl held in October 2024 in Mendoza.
Institutional support and continuous training
Of the total participants, nine students are part of the YPF Internship program, while two members of the UBA team are Fundación YPF scholars, including Catalina Montes, who also serves as the team captain.
During the preparation, the students received mentoring from professionals in YPF's Upstream area and held weekly technical English sessions, thus strengthening their skills to perform at their best in the international competition.

"We seek to recognize the effort and accompany them in a world-class experience that contributes to their training as future leaders of our country's energy development," said Gustavo Schiappacasse, executive director of Fundación YPF.
Road to Houston: a global experience
The PetroBowl competition tests the technical and strategic knowledge of university students from around the world, and serves as a platform to showcase future talents in the energy industry. In this sense, the Argentine participation has a double value: positioning the country on the international academic stage and promoting professional development from the classrooms.
The qualified teams will seek to stand out in the regional stage in Rio de Janeiro. The top five teams will access the global final in Houston, a key space for the exchange of ideas and experiences with international sector leaders.
