Hytale, the sandbox that aimed to compete with Minecraft, is back in motion after Hypixel Studios bought back the rights from Riot Games. The news comes just five months after its cancellation was announced.
The studio's founder, Simon Collins-Laflamme, confirmed that this move opens a new chapter for Hytale.

What Hypixel Studios said about buying back from Riot Games
Collins-Laflamme explained that Riot decided to part ways with the project because "it didn't make sense to continue developing it in its current form".
"We're delighted to announce that we've acquired Hytale from Riot Games. They wanted the best for players, and that means allowing us to deliver a revised version of the game", the founder stated.
A strengthened team to relaunch the project
Hypixel added more than 30 developers who had previously worked on the game, and announced new additions in the coming days. The idea is to return to the project's original essence, but with a completely independent studio.
