The police and ETER surrounded the area following a report of a robbery. The couple ultimately surrendered without resistance

Wednesday morning brought a scene worthy of a police movie with a bizarre twist in the city of Córdoba. An armed couple barricaded themselves in a room at a motel on La Voz del Interior Avenue at 5,550. The operation, which included the Police and the special ETER group, kept the area on edge for several hours.
According to Security Minister Juan Pablo Quinteros, everything began with a 911 call from the manager of the establishment. The man reported that the occupants of one of the rooms were armed and seemed nervous. "He reported that they were armed and that they might have just committed a crime," the official explained in a radio interview.
Preliminary information indicated that the suspects might have participated minutes earlier in a robbery in the Villa Belgrano neighborhood. Faced with that possibility, officers deployed a large operation around the area. Finally, after several negotiation attempts, the two occupants decided to surrender peacefully.

The beginning of the unusual situation
Everything began when a resident of Villa Belgrano reported a robbery at his home and, affected by what had happened, told a friend about it. That friend turned out to be the manager of the motel located on La Voz del Interior Avenue, who, upon hearing the story, believed he had found the suspects in his motel. A coincidence that led to an urgent call to 911 and an operation that brought more laughter than gunfire.
The manager, convinced of his discovery, carried out his own "internal investigation" and approached the door of the suspicious room. According to his testimony, he thought he heard the man say "I'm going to pull out the weapon," a phrase he interpreted as a real threat. However, apparently, the comment did not refer to a gun precisely, but to a misunderstanding that ended up mobilizing the entire police force.
When officers stormed the place, they searched the room and did not find any firearm, only cash. "The couple only had money. The man worked for a security company and had no connection to the Villa Belgrano robbery. The hotel manager made up a story," a police source said with evident resignation. The episode ended with more embarrassment than crime, leaving everyone with the feeling that, in this motel, the adrenaline was pure imagination.
Once subdued, officers confirmed that the couple appeared to be in good health and had no intention of confronting the Police. However, suspicions falsely pointed to them seeking refuge in the motel after committing the crime in a neighborhood of Córdoba. Finally, it was reported that the couple in question had no involvement in the Villa Belgrano robbery.
