ICE reached 5,000 arrests in Los Angeles, and the Trump administration promises to continue.

The number achieved by the immigration control forces was possible because Trump decreed the federalization of the California National Guard last June

An exclusive report released by The Daily Wire on Wednesday morning reveals that immigration control forces operating in Los Angeles have detained more than 5,000 illegal immigrants since the city was intervened last June.

The 5,000th detainee in the Californian city is a Mexican national named Gustavo García-Miranda, who entered the United States illegally in 2008 and had been detained by the Border Patrol for reentering. García-Miranda has a conviction for drug trafficking in his home country.

In early June, left-wing activists began violently protesting against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who were making arrests in Los Angeles, with bricks and Molotov cocktails being thrown at armored vehicles. When President Donald Trump received those images, he ordered the federalization of the California National Guard.

Noem: "This is just the beginning"

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem celebrated this milestone of arrests with a message for illegal immigrants who commit crimes in the U.S.: "This is just the beginning." According to Trump's official, the detentions mean that "there are 5,000 illegal criminals, gang members, child predators, and murderers who have been removed from our streets."

"Precious lives saved. Families protected. American taxpayers have saved the cost of their crimes and the burden of their benefits. THANK YOU to our brave law enforcement officers," Noem told The Daily Wire.

"Let there be no doubt: if you're here illegally, we'll find you, we'll arrest you, and we'll return you to your country. This is just the beginning," was the last—and forceful—statement issued by the secretary.

Trump replicates the federal intervention model in Washington D.C.

President Trump's decision to place 4,000 members of the California National Guard under federal control, followed by the subsequent thousands of arrests of undocumented immigrants, were actions carried out despite the opposition of the Democratic leadership that controls the city of Los Angeles at the municipal level.

The presidential order to federal agents deployed in the Californian city was clear: free communities from the crime of illegal foreigners. "Our law enforcement will continue to enforce the law. Anyone who raises a hand against a law enforcement officer will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.

The federal operation in Washington D.C. ordered by Trump weeks later has achieved a success similar to that in Los Angeles. On Monday night, federal forces made a total of 87 arrests, 39 of whom were illegal foreigners with criminal records for offenses such as assault, aggravated robbery, contempt of court, among others.
