Independiente seeks to secure Marcelo Saracchi, who has had limited playing time at Boca.
The Uruguayan full-back has lost ground under Russo and is considering a change of scenery, while Rojo needs to cover for Angulo's departure
With the arrival of Miguel Ángel Russo at Boca, Marcelo Saracchi has lost ground and become the third option for the left back position, behind starter Lautaro Blanco and even Frank Fabra. In this situation, the 27-year-old Uruguayan is open to a club change, and a strong offeror has already emerged in Argentine soccer.
According to journalist Emiliano Raddi, Independiente is closely monitoring Saracchi and is preparing a formal offer to add him as a reinforcement in this transfer window. Rojo is looking to fill the gap left by Álvaro Angulo, who moved to Pumas UNAM of Mexico, and sees the Xeneize defender as an ideal alternative to strengthen the left side of the defense.

The player's entourage is also evaluating options to find him a way out, since Saracchi wants continuity with an eye on drafts for the Uruguayan national team coached by Marcelo Bielsa. At Boca, his participation was very limited throughout the season, both with Fernando Gago, Mariano Herrón as interim, and now with Russo. He was not even on the bench several times despite being on the list of players drafted.
In this context, Saracchi, under contract until 2027, is among the 13 players Russo has relegated from the first team, so Xeneize management is willing to negotiate his departure, as long as the offer is satisfactory.
Saracchi's performance at Xeneize
Since his arrival at Boca in mid-2023, Saracchi has played 52 official matches, scored four goals and provided five assists. He received 10 yellow cards and was sent off twice, totaling 3,196 minutes on the field. Now, he is looking to relaunch his career with more prominence and dreams of a draft from Loco Bielsa for Uruguay, and Avellaneda could be the place to achieve it.
