Intense cold week in the AMBA: when will the rains return and which days will be sunny

The weather in Buenos Aires starts this Monday, June 15 with very low temperatures, clear skies, and a marked winter atmosphere. After the arrival of cold air over the weekend, the start of the week shows some of the lowest minimums of June so far.

According to the updated forecast from the National Meteorological Service (SMN), the cold will continue to be the main feature in the AMBA over the next few days. However, the sun will gain ground before a new episode of instability expected for the second half of the week.

Freezing Monday in Buenos Aires: the coldest morning of the week

This Monday began with a minimum temperature close to 2°C in various areas of the AMBA, while the maximum would reach 15°C.

The sky will remain clear for most of the day, with very little cloud cover and light winds. The combination of dry air and sunshine will allow for a pleasant afternoon, although the atmosphere will remain cold during the morning and night.

In suburban areas and sectors farther from the city center, even lower values were recorded, with thermal sensations that required extra warmth from early on.

How will the weather continue in the AMBA during the week?

According to the updated data from the SMN, weather conditions will remain stable for much of the week.

• Monday 15: minimum of 2°C and maximum of 15°C. Clear skies.

• Tuesday 16: minimum of 6°C and maximum of 18°C. Sunny and pleasant afternoon.

When will the rain return to Buenos Aires?

The only day with concrete chances of precipitation will, for now, be Thursday, June 18. The SMN forecast shows probabilities of rain between the afternoon and night, with percentages ranging from 10% to 40%.

These would be isolated and short-lived rains. No strong storms or significant accumulations are expected over the City of Buenos Aires and the Greater Buenos Aires area.

The cold will remain, but without a new polar wave

Although the mornings will continue to be cold, especially between Monday and Wednesday, maximum values will show a gradual recovery thanks to the presence of the sun.

Tuesday appears to be the warmest day of the week, with a forecast maximum of 18°C. Then a new increase in cloud cover will cause temperatures to drop a few degrees.
