A 43-year-old man was arrested after attempting to set fire to a home where his ex-partner and their three children were present. The incident took place in the town of Estación Los Chañaritos, located in the interior of the province of Córdoba, on Tuesday afternoon. The intervention was carried out by police personnel from Santiago Temple.
According to official sources, the assailant arrived at the residence and physically assaulted the woman. After that, he proceeded to pour gasoline on various pieces of furniture inside the home. He then started a fire while the victims were inside the property.
Minutes later, police officers and firefighters arrived at the scene, managing to contain the fire and assist the family. Fortunately, both the woman and her children were unharmed. The swift action of the emergency teams prevented the flames from spreading.

During the operation, police officers searched the home until they found the suspect hiding under a bed. He was subdued at the scene and immediately taken to judicial headquarters.
The authorities indicated that the man was placed at the disposal of the justice system, accused of domestic violence and attempted arson. The incident is being investigated by the competent authorities of the jurisdiction.
Police sources emphasized that "the prompt intervention prevented more serious consequences," and highlighted that immediate assistance was provided to the victims. For now, judicial decisions regarding his procedural situation are pending.
