Horror in Ituzaingó: this is how a house in the center of the town caught fire
The incident occurred on Thursday at 1:00 p.m., and the house was left uninhabitable
A house located in the heart of Ituzaingó caught fire, causing concern among neighbors and authorities in the western area.
The incident occurred on Fragio Street between Alvear and Laprida, just a few meters from the Manuel Belgrano and Ugo Foscolo schools.
According to official sources, the fire is believed to have started on the first floor of the property, in a room measuring three by eight meters (9 feet 10 inches by 26 feet 3 inches) that was used as a laundry room.

An electrical failure in a washing machine is believed to have sparked the initial flames, which quickly spread to other areas of the house, causing significant material damage.
At the time of the incident, a tenant was on the ground floor of the house, who confirmed to this outlet that "the power suddenly went out." He then said: "I tried to reset the circuit breakers but the power didn't come back, and when I went upstairs, the fire had already started."

The operation carried out by the Ituzaingó Volunteer Firefighters was crucial in containing the fire. Two units replied to the scene: vehicle 21 from the Central Detachment and vehicle 22 from the Main Station. After several minutes of intense work, they managed to extinguish the flames and prevent them from spreading to neighboring houses.
Although the losses were exclusively material, specialized personnel continue to investigate to confirm the origin of the fire. In addition, the extent of the structural damage is being assessed so that the tenants can return to the property. Among the most significant damage is the roof of the house, which was completely destroyed by the fire.
The block remained closed to traffic during Thursday midday, with a security presence. All this while the assessment and cleaning tasks progress.

The neighborhood, still shocked by everything that happened, highlighted the speed of the firefighters' intervention, which prevented more serious consequences.
The neighbors were surprised by the intensity of the flames and the smoke produced by the fire.

"They arrived very quickly, and that was key to preventing the fire from spreading," said one of the local residents. This meant that none of the other houses were affected by the fire.
According to this outlet, the firefighters' operation lasted approximately 8 minutes until they were able to extinguish the fire.
