Jannik Sinner closed 2025 in the most emphatic way possible: he conquered the ATP Finals once again after defeating Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling final that reaffirms the most prominent rivalry in current tennis. In the decisive match in Turin, the world number two prevailed 7-6 and 7-5 against the ranking leader and lifted the trophy that brings together the eight best players on the circuit each season.
The match had an unusual start. After just three games, a spectator suffered a medical emergency and had to receive medical attention, which forced play to be stopped for about 12 minutes. Once play resumed, both players raised their level until reaching a tie-break full of spectacular rallies. There, Sinner showed greater precision in the critical moments and took the first set (7)7-6(4).
In the second set, the Italian took control of the match. Alcaraz, who had already requested physical assistance in the first set, showed signs of fatigue and Sinner took advantage to impose his rhythm from the baseline. With a timely break and solid management of the long points, the defending champion once again tilted the balance in his favor and sealed the victory that allowed him to be crowned for the second consecutive year.
