Javier Milei spoke at the IAEF Annual Congress and addressed the 'econochantas'
The Argentine president criticized the 'mandriles' and defended the achievements of his administration
The presidentJavier Milei participated in the 42nd Annual Congress of the Argentine Institute of Finance Executives (IAEF), held at the Convention Center of the City of Buenos Aires.
At the beginning of his presentation, he reviewed the country's situation upon taking office. "We had the three worst crises in Argentine history," he stated, noting that social indicators were even below those recorded in 2001. "Not only Toto but also the entire team were in an electric chair. The whole team was in an electric chair," he emphasized.
Milei drew a direct comparison with the government model of Carlos Menem, and highlighted that, thanks to DNU 70/23 and the Ley Bases, a structural transformation was promoted "eight times larger."

"When we add the reforms carried out by Federico, another colossus I have the privilege of having in the cabinet, the number of structural reforms means we've done 17 times more reforms than were done in Menem's government," he added, once again praising Luis "Toto" Caputo, whom he described as "the best Minister of Economy in history."
"We also managed to stabilize without expropriating, we didn't apply a Bonex plan, that was easy... we cleaned the Central Bank's balance without having expropriated, respecting property rights, we didn't screw anyone over," he remarked.
In another part of his speech, he launched criticisms: "Why are the government's enemies asking for devaluation? Because it's an unpopular measure (...) These guys are encouraging these kinds of calamities, they don't care that they've been getting it wrong for a year and a half. To see the level of stupidity, the exchange rate is free and they keep talking about exchange rate lag. I'd be ashamed. They're pathetic."
The Argentine leader also destroyed the "econochantas of Mandrilandia" for the removal of the cap: "The whole bunch of mandrills, econochantas of Mandrilandia said the exchange rate would go through the roof, they would lose reserves at 1,400, what did we answer? No. because the amount of money has been fixed since mid-last year."

The event also featured the participation of prominent political figures, including the Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger; and the Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo.
In the afternoon, the president once again lashed out at Mauricio Macri, amid a strong dispute with the PRO leader following the rejection of the Clean Record project in the Senate.
"The thief believes everyone is of his own condition," Milei shot back through his X account, in response to Macri's insinuations about an agreement between the president and the convicted for corruption Cristina Kirchner to block the initiative.
