President Javier Milei led the commemorative events for Flag Day at the Argentine Polo Field, located in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, accompanied by all members of his cabinet. The celebration coincided with the 205th anniversary of the death of Manuel Belgrano, creator of the national flag.
“For years, politics used the Armed Forces as a scapegoat to justify the reduction of defense spending under the argument that those in uniform were the villains and the main culprits of national decline,” Milei denounced. He added that "politics neglected the country's needs in the face of new threats emerging globally."
In this context, the president emphasized that “swearing allegiance to the flag is not a mere formality: it's a commitment as great as one's own life, which they must be willing to give if the Homeland demands it”.

He also stressed that “the country's reconstruction is not only built on our forces but also on the Argentine families from which they come and whom they swear to protect”.
The president also expressed his gratitude: “I want to thank you on behalf of all citizens for the brave decision you made by joining our forces."
"This decision must be reaffirmed and honored daily in the performance of your duties, knowing that you risk your lives to protect what belongs to all Argentines, which constitutes the noblest of services to the homeland," Milei added.

Furthermore, during his speech at the Argentine Polo Field, the president harshly criticized previous governments: “they boasted about sovereignty, as if sovereignty meant expanding the State as an end in itself, instead of ensuring the prosperity of its people. A true disgrace to those who forged our Homeland,” he stated.
Meanwhile, while President Milei focused his activities in Buenos Aires, the Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, traveled to Rosario. The official went to the city in Santa Fe this Thursday to lead, at 2:00 p.m., a meeting at the local headquarters of the National Gendarmerie.
