Luciano Benavides, brand-new champion of the 2026 Dakar Rally in the motorcycles category, was received this Tuesday by President Javier Milei at the Casa Rosada, in a formal recognition meeting that also included the presence of his brother Kevin, a leading figure in Argentine motorcycling and two-time winner of the competition (2021 and 2023).
The meeting was part of the official agenda of the Executive Branch and celebrated one of the most important achievements in national sports in recent years. After the meeting, Milei shared an image with the riders on his social media accounts with the phrase:"Welcome, champions", while Luciano posed with his trophy in Plaza de Mayo, in front of the seat of Government.

A few weeks ago, the Salta native wrote a historic chapter by being crowned Dakar champion for the first time in his career, in a dramatic finish that was decided by just two seconds over American Ricky Brabec. The title was sealed in the final stage, a decisive 105-kilometer (65.24-mile) timed section in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, where Benavides achieved a memorable comeback to take first place overall.
